Important Dates

Age Limit as On Last Date

Date of Birth filled by the candidate in the ITBP Driver online application form and the same recorded in the Matriculation or equivalent/ Birth certificate will be accepted by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) for determining the age and no subsequent request for change will be considered or granted. The age limit for ITBP Driver is;

• Minimum Age Required: 21 Years
• Maximum Age Limit: 27 Years
• Age Limit as on: 26 July 2023

• Candidates should have Matriculation or 10th pass from a recognized board/ institution/ equivalent.
• Must have possess valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.

Selection Process

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has announced its much-awaited Driver Recruitment for the year 2023. This opportunity offers a chance to join the esteemed ranks of the ITBP as a driver. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The first stage of the recruitment process is the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which evaluates the physical fitness of candidates. In this test, candidates are required to undergo various physical activities such as a race, long jump and high jump.

• Race: 1.6 Kilometre within 7.30 Minutes
• Long Jump: 11 Feet (03 Chances)
• High Jump: 3.5 Feet (03 Chances)

Physical Standards Test (PST)

After successfully clearing the PET, candidates proceed to the Physical Standards Test (PST). This test checks the physical measurements of candidates, including height, weight and chest measurements. The PST ensures that candidates meet the specified physical standards set by the ITBP.

• Height: 170 cms
• Chest: 80-85 cms
• Weight: Proportionate to height and age.

Written Exam

Candidates who clear the PET and PST move on to the Written Exam. This exam assesses the candidates knowledge in various subjects such as General Awareness, English/ Hindi,  Mathematics, Reasoning and Trade Related questions.

Document Verification

Once candidates successfully pass the Written Exam, they undergo Document Verification. This stage is crucial as it ensures the authenticity of the candidates documents, such as educational certificates, identity proofs and other relevant documents. Candidates are required to produce the original documents as per the ITBP’s guidelines. The following documents will be required for verification:

• Date of birth certificate (10th pass certificate)
• Driving license.
• Experience certificate (if any)
• SC/ST/OBC certificate, if applicable.
• Domicile certificate/ PAN Carde/ Voter ID Card/ Aadhar Card/ Driving Licens.
• Discharge certificate (for Ex-Serviceman)
• Relaxation certificate (if applicable)
• Photograph (same as submitted with online form)

Driving Test

Candidates who clear the Document Verification stage will be called for the Driving Test. This test evaluates the driving skills and proficiency of the candidates. It includes both practical and theoretical aspects related to driving, traffic rules and vehicle maintenance.

Medical Examination

The final stage of the ITBP Driver Recruitment process is the Medical Examination. The medical examination includes tests to evaluate general health, visual acuity, hearing ability and overall fitness.
