Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Canara Bank has released an official notification for the engagement of 3,500 Graduate Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for FY 2026-27. Eligible Indian citizens can apply online for apprenticeship training through the prescribed process. Canara Bank Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Degree/Graduation in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

Candidates must have passed their graduation not earlier than 1 January 2023 and not later than 1 September 2026.

Age Limit

The candidate’s age will be calculated as on 1 September 2026.

• Minimum Age: 20 Years
• Maximum Age: 28 Years
• Candidate must have been born between 02 September 1998 and 01 September 2006, both dates inclusive.

Age relaxation is applicable as per the notification, including 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 10 years for PwBD candidates, subject to the specified conditions.

Local Language Requirement

Candidates who have studied the specified local language of their opted State in 10th or 12th standard and can provide the relevant certificate/marksheet will not be required to appear for the local language test.

Other candidates will have to qualify in the local language test during the document verification process. Candidates who fail to qualify the test will not be engaged as apprentices.

Canara Bank Apprentice Stipend 2026

Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹16,650 during the apprenticeship training period.

According to the notification, Canara Bank will pay ₹10,500 per month into the apprentice’s account, while the Government share of ₹6,150 will be credited directly through DBT, subject to applicable guidelines.

The apprenticeship period will be 12 months, with on-the-job training provided at selected Canara Bank branches according to the prescribed course/curriculum. Apprentices will not be treated as regular employees of Canara Bank.

Canara Bank Apprentice Selection Process 2026

The selection will be based primarily on a state-wise merit list prepared according to the marks/percentage obtained in 12th Standard (HSC/10+2) or Diploma.

In case two or more candidates have the same percentage, the candidate’s age will be considered for ranking in the merit list.

The minimum qualifying marks will be:

• 60% for General/other applicable candidates
• 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates

The notification specifies that fractions below the required percentage will not be rounded up; for example, 59.99% will be treated as below 60%. Document verification, local language testing where applicable, and medical fitness are also part of the final selection process.
