The selection test will be conducted for admission to Class VI in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) located in Himachal Pradesh. The official notification has been issued on 26 September 2026.
The EMRSST 2027 selection test will be conducted exclusively for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students, in accordance with the Eklavya Model Residential Schools Scheme and instructions issued by the competent authority from time to time.

EMRSST 2027 Eligibility Criteria
The EMRSST 2027 selection test is being conducted exclusively for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students for admission to Class VI in Eklavya Model Residential Schools situated in Himachal Pradesh.
The candidates studying in Class V during the academic session 2026-27, and candidates covered under the Class VII examination conditions mentioned in the notification, or those who have passed Class VIII during the academic session 2026-27, and who belong to the Scheduled Tribe category, shall be eligible to apply, subject to the prescribed eligibility conditions.
The notification also mentions certain special categories of children who may be eligible, subject to applicable norms. These include children who have lost their parents due to LWE/insurgency/COVID-19, children of widows, children of Divyang (Persons with Disabilities) parents, donor children and orphan children.
Candidates should carefully read the detailed Prospectus-cum-Instructions for the complete eligibility requirements before submitting their applications.
EMRSST 2027 Application Form
The online application process for EMRSST 2027 will commence on 26 September 2026. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official website of the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education.
The last date for submission of the online application is 12 October 2026. Candidates are advised to submit their forms within the prescribed schedule and ensure that all required information is entered correctly.
One important point is that no application fee will be charged from candidates for submission of the online application form.
EMRSST 2027 Application Correction
HPBOSE has also provided a correction facility for candidates who need to rectify information in their submitted applications.
The correction window will remain open from 13 October 2026 to 15 October 2026. However, the notification clearly states that corrections will be allowed in all fields except Category/Subcategory.
Candidates should therefore enter their category and subcategory details carefully while submitting the original application form. No correction will be permitted after the prescribed correction period.

As per the official HPBOSE notification, the Eklavya Model Residential School Selection Test (EMRSST)-2027 will be conducted on 15 November 2026.

Composition of the Test
The EMRSST, conducted in offline mode, may be of two-hour duration with 100 objective type questions from 3 sections for a total of 100 marks. The medium of instruction for the Examination may be English/ Hindi/ Regional Language or bilingual.

After entering the required details, candidates should submit the application online within the prescribed deadline. Since the Board has stated that applications submitted through any mode other than online, as well as incomplete applications, may be rejected without notice, candidates should ensure that their application is complete and correctly submitted.
