Age Limit for Chandigarh High Court Peon Posts 2025
The age of General category candidates and SC/ST/BC candidates of the area/states other than Punjab, Haryana and U.T Chandigarh should not be less than 18 years and more than 27 years as on 04/08/2025. However, for the candidates belonging to following categories, upper age limit shall be relaxed as follows:-
- General & SC/ST/BC (Other States): 18 to 27 years
- SC/ST/BC (Punjab, Haryana, U.T. Chandigarh): Relaxation of 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation equal to years of defence service plus 3 years
- Employees of High Court/District Courts (Punjab/Haryana/Chandigarh): Relaxation up to 5 years based on service length
Only one relaxation benefit (either service-based or category-based) is applicable.
Chandigarh High Court Peon Posts Recruitment 2025 Selection Process
The selection criteria for the post of Peon (Residential) shall be as follows:
- A Practical Test will be conducted to assess the candidates’ cooking/culinary skills, carrying a total of 80 marks. A minimum of 50% marks shall be required to qualify this test.
- Candidates who qualify the Practical Test will be called for an Interview, which shall carry 20 marks. A minimum of 10 marks shall be required to qualify the interview. The final merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate of marks obtained in both the Practical Test and the Interview.
Depending on the number of applications received, any appropriate shortlisting criteria may be adopted by the High Court at the relevant stage.
